The Morning Call
The fate of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the coming months is still unclear. The European Commission’s foreign ministers are to meet to discuss the situation in the country after a request from several concerned countries including former colonial master, Belgium. This past Tuesday, EU ambassadors agreed at a meeting that foreign ministers will discuss the situation on October 17. Already the Belgian foreign ministry on Wednesday said that it had reduced the visa duration for Congolese officials holding diplomatic passports to six months.
